38°N9°W, 2021
Four colour screenprint on cotton, custom lightbox
On show at JGM Gallery 11 August - 25 September

38°N9°W is a multimedia installation that explore our fascination and understanding of sunsets. I was inspired by the sunsets in Portugal where I spent learning to surf last summer. The scattering of sunlight created vibrant purple, pink, orange hues on the horizon - even more pronounced in Portugal's location by the Atlantic Ocean. 38°W9°N is a multimedia piece that plays with the reconstruction of that light experience artificially, in the context of lockdown. This new work is a take on placemaking, creating versions of home lived and experienced. The work was produced at 3rdrailprintspace in Peckham, London.
